It was a serene family day at the popular Troll Falls hike in Kananaskis. On the way back out of the woods, the day was waned under a gray sky, the snow was still on the ground making the air chilly. These tree’s trunks were standing straight, tall and shinning. To me, they seemed to form intricate, guiding lines, as if safeguarding the delicate leaves from the cold breeze. I felt their strength in me.
I have conveyed my feeling though this beautiful large artwork by oil painting glazing technique to create smooth layers and depth. My strong drawing skills helped me to tackle the complexity of branches. The limited color palette of high contrast dark forest behind the luminous trees has created the interesting intriguing suspense. It will bring the interesting element in any surroundings.
